Home WJI Blog 2023, Great fellowship and a Scavenger Hunt
On Sunday, May 21, the first weekend of the WJI 2023 program ended with a bang! With all 30 of us, the WJI gang attended Sunday service as a whole at Bethel Christian Reformed Church. As we all filed into the pews, the service started with a select amount of hymns. Along with the hymns came a message that involved the doctrinal issue of tongues. Cessations and Continuationists alike heard the message, which led to riveting conversations during the lunch hour back at Dordt University.
After a great meal and theological conversations, the annual WJI scavenger hunt happened for the 25th year. As Lee Pitts and his children always win, they won again in 2023. Still questioning whether or not it’s rigged, but my team came in second place. If Pitts always wins it, second ain’t so bad then.
With hot weather and cold mornings, WJI has been a blast so far! I’ve been blessed to meet lots of new people and fellowship with others that come from all across the country. Being from New York has slowed things down for me in Iowa, but it’s still a great atmosphere with lots of fun people!
Having a blast at WJI! This is where the fun begins!
